As the Aiko opened up the door of the rooftop, she stood rooted to the ground as she saw the scene in front of her eyes unfold.

Tears flowed down Riko's cheeks, and Aiko saw her friend inching closer and closer towards the fence of the rooftop. Rage could be seen in Hayato's eyes, and he lifted his arms. In a flash, Yuto had held onto Hayato's wrist, stopping the boy from slapping Riko.

Ryosuke had hugged Riko from behind, stopping her movements. "What happened?!" Hayato's hands were now behind his back, and Riko had collapsed into Ryosuke's arms.

From the entrance, Aiko saw that tears flowing down Hayato's cheeks too.

'What in the world happened?'

Riko had shrugged out of Ryosuke's hug, and ran away. It was than, Aiko pushed Chinen away from the door. "Find Riko now. For me, please. Something's happening." With that, Chinen ran after Riko, while Aiko went towards Hayato, who was now on the floor.

"What happened?" A simple statement that was made by Aiko, and Ryosuke and Yuto stood at the side. A bitter smile surfaced on Hayato's lips. "I didn't know Riko went through this much."

Chinen saw Riko's backview disappearing, and at the turn, she was gone. 'Baka. Takasugi, what happened?!' Giving up, Chinen turned back, going to find the others.

Hiding behind the locker, Riko shivered a little, as she whispered, "Sorry, everyone."

When Chinen went back to the rooftop, he saw that his friends were in a state of shock.

"Riko ... Do you have anything to say?" He was clearly confused. Just yesterday, Riko had told him that she doesn't remember him.

And now?

She had pulled him up to the rooftop. Taking in a deep breath, Riko let out a long sigh. "It's been a long time ne, Hayato."

As she turned around to look at him, Hayato saw the sadness in Riko's eyes and the bitter smile she gave him. Before he could ask, Riko cut him off. "I had amnesia. There was more to that accident. And I just remembered everything. That's why I called you to come up here to talk. There's so many things you just don't know."

A tear rolled down her cheeks as she pulls up her school blazer's sleeve. The skin on her wrist was decorated with distinct scars, and Riko used her finger to slowly trace each of them.

Hayato took a step nearer to the girl, and his own finger was now running across Riko's once smooth wrist. "W-what happened ...?"


She placed her hand on Hayato cheeks, as she whispered, "Sorry, for making you hate me." A year ago. Just a year ago. Hayato's hand went up to where his heart is, clenching his uniform. Just a year ago, he broke up with Riko. Just because he saw her being intimate with another guy.


"It was on purpose. I helped Aiko-chan wasn't purely just helping at that time. I was trying to kill myself too." Twirling around, she looked up into the sky. Riko knew Hayato tried to cut into the conversation, but she didn't allow it.


Turning to look at Hayato, Riko just said in a straight face. "I want you to break up with me because I have a brain tumor. I may die soon."


And the door to the rooftop flung open, just when Hayato raised his hand.


"IMPOSSIBLE!" Ryosuke collapsed into Yuto's arm. How can this be possible? Wasn't she alright in this one year?


Flashbacks started to go through Yuto's mind, and he remembered that Riko had been frequently got absent, and when asked about it, she would always avoid it.


Chinen just hugged Aiko from the back, as he knew that the girl was obviously shocked at the news.


Somewhere, letters were written and placed into boxes. 'One day, all of you will understand why.'
