<< Prologue
Feeling all the stares on her, she sighed the nth time as Aiko continued to walk towards her new classroom. Class 2-D.
"Today, a friend from Singapore has transferred over. Although she's younger by one year than all of you, you should actually find her to tutor you English!" Tanaka sensei spoke and the whole class groaned.
Aiko saw the signal given to her, and she slide the door and entered.
Looking to the front of the class room, Chinen felt his eyes glued on the younger girl. She wasn't particularly attractive, since their whole class was filled with people of the entertainment industry. 'Probably how she carries herself.' Chinen silently thought.
The girl's strides were filled with confident, and something just attracted Chinen to her. "Sugihara Aiko. I glad to be here. I'm now 16. Hope to be good friends with all of you." She spoke in fluent Japanese, and her voice lingered in his mind.
"Ne, you couldn't even tell that she's from a foreign country. But I doubt her English skills." Ryosuke whispered to Chinen, only to see his friend being mesmerised by the transfer student.
Ryosuke was terribly wrong about Aiko's English skills. He was unfortunately called up today, and he stammered at the sentence. "Yamada, start reading more English. Sugihara, your turn."
All eyes turned to the transfer student, eager to hear the English that their homeroom teacher had boosted.
'What's with all the staring?' Inwardly, Aiko sweat drop at her classmates' reactions. Breathing out, she started to read.
"Tears shimmered in the morning sun, and she was now back in John's strong embrace. Karen thought that she had never felt so complete before in life."
As Aiko closed her book, she saw that even her teacher had the facial expression of a goldfish. "Eto, did I read it wrongly?" Quickly, Aiko had flipped to the page. Nope, I've read it correctly.
"Sugihara, splendid! Even Chinen, the top of our class wouldn't be able to speak of fluently!" A click of the tongue made Aiko turn and her gaze met a boy.
A Johnny in fact. She knows about them, since her friend back at home was fangirling about their group. Remembering, that guy was definitely Chinen Yuri.
"Yama-chan, let's go for lunch!" Yuto had linked his hand with Ryosuke, and the older boy had immediately pushed him away. "A-ah! I have duty today. Go ahead without me, Yuto-kun."
Without even looking at his bandmate, Ryosuke immediately darted back into the classroom. Ryosuke could feel his cheeks burning, and he remembered that the younger boy's touch was like electricity running down his spine.
Slapping his cheeks, he began to clean the white board.
"Yuto-kun, why so gloom?" Chinen poked the taller boy, only to receive a glare from the usually happy Yuto. "Shut up, you wouldn't understand." Yuto lightly pushed the smaller boy away.
The sound of the rooftop door opening made both boys turn, only to see Aiko standing there. "Don't mind me! I'll eat at the other side!" With that, the girl quickly rushed behind the wall and out of their sight.
"Now, what was that that Riko said before? Member-ai?" Shrugging, Aiko opened her bento and started eating.
Seeing that Yuto was not going to talk to him, Chinen walked over to the other side of the rooftop. "Nice to meet you, I'm Chinen Yuri." Aiko jumped a little, and a rice grain was stuck at the corner of her lip.
Laughing a little, Chinen leaned over, and wiped the rice grain away. A hint of redness was evident on the girl's cheeks, and she mumbled "Thank you Chinen-san."
Chinen looked into the girl's bento and she must have seen it. "Do you want a piece?"
Using her chopstick, she clipped a rice ball and placed it in front of Chinen's mouth. Looking at Aiko, who was nodding away, Chinen ate it, and his eyes widened.
"Delicious!" That had let Aiko into a laughing fit. "Ne, Chinen-kun, you're cute!" The expression of Aiko made his heart start to run a marathon. Why is that so? Ignoring his weird feelings that were bubbling inside, he started laughing with Aiko.
Little did Chinen notice, was that Yuto wasn't on the rooftop anymore.
