<< Chapter 4
As they approached the library, Yuto had let go of Keito. A smirk hung on his lip. "So, now that you've seen Ryosuke. Does the words of those maids still stand?" Looking into his cousin's eyes, Yuto could sense the hostility in them.
"Better than I imagined. Doesn't he seems a little afraid of you? Don't tell me you're actually torturing that poor boy." Keito snorted at Yuto, and the tension began to rose.
Yuto's back was now facing the older boy, as he perched himself on the ledge of a corridor window. Looking out he saw Ryutaro helping Ryosuke towards the garden bench. "Whatever. You have no say in this anyway."
He knew Keito tried to retort back, but no words came out from his cousin's mouth. Instead, Yuto just stayed on the ledge, as Keito walked away.
"Don't go finding Ryutaro. He'll come for you when they are done." That had stopped Keito in his tracks. Turning around, he went into the Nakajima mansion's library.
When both boys got out of each others embrace, Ryosuke had winced a little while holding onto his hip. He had almost fall over, but was caught by the younger boy.
"Yama-chan, are you okay?" Concern was in his voice, as he saw Ryosuke nodding.
Slowly, they went out into the garden and sat on the garden bench. "It's been a long time ne, Ryu." A small smile formed on Ryosuke's face, as he looked at the other boy.
They met each other when they were younger, before they were sold off to become the servants of the Nakajima household and the Okamoto household. Morimoto Ryutaro and Yamada Ryosuke were childhood friends.
Their families were poor, and because of that, both boys were separated from them to pay for the bills. Not that they did have a choice.
"Yama-chan, have you gone back home too see them?" Ryutaro spoke up, and his eyes widened as he saw his friend shaking his head. "Yuto-sama never allowed me to leave. It doesn't really matter, Ryu. At least we're keeping in touch with each other through letters."
Ryutaro can never understand the older boy. He would always smile, as if everything was alright. It has always been like this.
However, Ryutaro couldn't believe that Ryosuke wasn't allowed to visit his family at all. Even he was allowed to have a monthly visit to his family. Oh how he missed his brother Shintaro.
A thought came up, and Ryutaro's curiosity was just too strong that he had to ask. "Yama-chan, why were you limping? Don't tell me ..." Trailing off, his mind went wild, imagining what could have happened to his friend.
A trace of pink was spotted on Ryosuke's face, and he leaned back a little, look up into the sky. "Don't worry about that. It's ... something I wouldn't want to say now."
A cool breeze came, and their clothes fluttered along with it. The fallen leaves went into a small dance before laying still on the grass patch again.
Their conversation just continued, with Ryosuke asking how was Ryutaro treated in the Okamoto household, and stuffs. The older boy had realised that Ryutaro had this beautiful spark in his eyes, whenever he talked about his master.
"Ne, Ryu. You like Okamoto-sama right?" He had just halfheartedly asked, and Ryutaro had jumped out of the bench and squeaked like a hamster.
With that, Ryosuke had burst out laughing and his question was clearly answered.
He was then hit on the back of his head. "So what? He wouldn't take notice of me. Keito-sama is always thinking about a boy he met quite long ago." Ryosuke had stopped laughing and sadness was clearly seen in Ryutaro's eyes.
Smiling bitterly, Ryosuke closed his eyes as he muttered, "I can relate to that."
He shifted his eyes to a window of the mansion, and eyes widened. Yuto was seated there, asleep. A faint smile formed, as Ryosuke excused himself.
"We'll catch up again. Since you'll be staying here." Waving a little, Ryutaro looked on as his friend disappeared into the mansion.
"Keito-sama. I know who you're thinking about now." Closing his eyes, Ryutaro plopped onto the grassy patch and just laid there. He needs a break from this.
