His phone rang, and looking at Aiko with an apologetic look, Chinen picked it up. It was from Yuto. “Hello, Chinen here. What’s with the sudden call?”
Aiko saw that Chinen stiffened a little, before he shouted into the phone. “What do you mean discharged?! So, should I say it now?” A serious expression was now on her boyfriend’s face, and Aiko could only wonder what’s happening.
Nodding, Chinen cut off the line. He looked at Aiko and pulled her up to her feet. “Ehh? Chii, where are we going?” A bitter smile was plastered on Chinen’s lips as he told her that they were now going to meet Ryosuke and Yuto.
As they stepped out of the hospital, Riko had clung onto Kento’s arm, and Kento just smiled at the younger girl’s actions. “Don’t be scared.” She just shook her head, and pouted. “Am not.”
Kento was carrying the bag which contains the girl’s possessions. Riko had told him that she didn’t even remember she had them, until the nurse pointed out where they were. “So, do you still remember what ever you’ve learnt in high school?”
The girl scrunched her face, and slowly broke into a smile. “Apparently, yes. Do you think I can take a university entrance exam?” Bursting into laughter, Kento just pulled her to the opposite direction of his house.
They headed for Meiji University.
Hayato pushed up his spectacles a little, as he continued to read his assignment for this time. Apparently, the teacher had paired him up with Yuto. Shrugging his shoulder a little, he picked his bag up and headed towards the exit of the lecture room.
Sliding open the door, he stopped in his tracks. Passing by, was Riko, clinging onto a boy’s arms tightly. “R-riko!” The two person stopped in the corridor, and Riko looked back to see who called her.
A smile hung on Hayato’s lips as he approached Riko. Eyes widened, and Riko had immediately hid behind Kento.
“Aiko-chan, we have something to tell you.” Chinen spoke up, when the four of them met. A puzzled look was on her face, and she just nodded, urging her boyfriend to go on.
A sigh escaped Ryosuke’s mouth, and Chinen continued. “Takasugi is back in Japan. She had transferred hospital, but she was discharged today.” Aiko was now clenching onto her bag. Her friend was back in Japan?
“Why didn’t you tell me earlier?” She was near to tears, and Chinen could only look down onto the floor with guilt. “Takasugi was in a coma.” This had been said by Yuto, and Aiko had promptly collapsed into Chinen’s arms.
“We have to find her.” It was then, Aiko’s phone signaled to her that a message was received.
“Who are you, mister?” Riko’s question was merely a squeak behind Kento, and she saw that the man in front of her just looked at her in disbelieve. “Not again Riko. Am I that insignificant? YOU CAN’T FORGET ME TWICE!” Hayato was about to grab Riko, when Kento stopped him.
With a wave, Kento signaled Riko to stand at a side, which she gladly did, since Hayato was scaring her. “Sorry, but she has lost her memories of everything. Except for her name and who I am.” Hayato just started at Kento with lifeless eyes.
“Nakajima Kento right? Part of the the Johnny’s Entertainment.” A sigh was let out, and Hayato saw Kento nod. Turning towards Riko, Hayato gave her a bitter smile. “Sorry, Riko. I’ve scared you.” With that he left.
When he was out of the Literature building, Hayato fished out his phone and pushed his keypad. Aiko should know what’s happening.
“Kusaka just sent me a mail.” Closing her phone, she looked at the three JUMP members. “He told me that he saw Riko at the University’s Literature building. Riko … She lost her memories.”
“Kento-kun, should I know that person just now?” Riko was now on Kento’s back, since she was childish enough to demand a piggyback from the older boy. She felt Kento shrug his shoulder, and rested her chin on Kento’s head.
“Kento-kun smells so nice, kyun~”
Chinen and Aiko were now walking in the park, since Aiko said that she needed some fresh air. They parted with Yuto and Ryosuke, and the YamaJima pair went back to their shared apartment. They’ve been staying together ever since they left high school.
Suddenly, Aiko felt a pair of hands on her wrist, and turning around, she screamed in horror. It was Hiroyuki with a knife in his hand. “It’s been a long time, ne? Aiko.” With his quick reflexes, Chinen punched Hiroyuki in the face, and twisted his hand, forcing the knife to drop.
He then landed a kick on Hiroyuki’s shin, and the younger boy fell to the ground, groaning in pain. Aiko was now hiding behind Chinen, and the intense glare from Chinen made Hiroyuki flinch a little.
“What do you want?” The statement was laced with venom, sending chill down Hiroyuki’s spine. A smirk laced Hiroyuki’s lips, as he spat, “Aiko’s mine. Don’t think this is the last of me.” With that, he stood up and left, walking in a bee line.
Chinen brought Aiko into an embrace, and he felt the younger girl shivering. “Don’t worry Aiko. I’ll protect you.”
“Chii …” The grip on her waist tightened, and Aiko let her tears flow.
“Tadaima!” Kento shouted as he entered his apartment. Turning back, Kento nodded to Riko, and she smile while shouting at the top of her voice, “TADAIMA!” The girl had pounced onto Kento again, hugging the boy.
Patting the younger girl’s head, Kento whispered into her ears. “This is your home from now on.” A blush crept up Riko’s cheeks as she nodded.
With Kento, she felt safe.
In another apartment, Hiroyuki threw two knifes onto a corkboard. It landed straight on Chinen’s and Riko’s picture.
“They’ll pay dearly for what they’ve done.”
