"What do you want?" A dark smirk surfaced on the boy's sharp facial features. His victim just shook his head, and when the grip on the hem of his shirt was released, he ran for his life.
Nakajima Yuto. Everyone knew who was he. No one, and I really mean no one would be insane enough to mess with him. His records? Breaking the arms of his Maths teacher, and injuring many students who got into his way.
But amazingly, he was the smartest in his cohort. Walking through the corridor, everyone had moved out of his way. It has always been like this. Until
he came into his life.
Yuto was skipping classes again, and here he was, lying on the school's rooftop. It was his favourite place in the whole school. Suddenly, he heard mewing sounds coming from a corner, and when he approached, he found a litter of kittens in a cardboard box.
Smiling softly, he slowly stroked one of the kitten's tiny head, and got a mew. "You like animals too?" A voice was heard behind him, shocking Yuto. Turning, he saw the guy coming to squat beside him. There was a feminine look in his features, and the gentle smile on his face was dazzling.
"I'm Yamada Ryosuke. You're Nakajima Yuto right?" Ryosuke picked up one of the kittens and started to feed it some milk from the tiny bottle he had in his hand. It seems that the other boy wasn't even affected that the Nakajima Yuto was beside him.
Somehow, this guy had fascinated Yuto, a lot. "Aren't you afraid of me? I'm sure you heard many stories about me." Ryosuke had only innocently smile at him and shook his head. Putting the kitten back into the box, Ryosuke was suddenly pinned onto the ground, a hand around his neck.
"Aren't you even afraid that I'll just break your neck here?" A smirk crept up his face. Of course he would be scared. Everyone was. What makes this Yamada Ryosuke an exception? But what shocked him was that Ryosuke's eyes softened, and he felt the other boy's hand on his cheeks.
"You're lonely aren't you?"
Letting go, Yuto once again sat down beside the box, looking at the kittens. "Animals know if you're kind or not. According to these little kittens, you're kind." Ryosuke blew into Yuto's ear, but the taller boy had completely ignored him.
"You wouldn't be lonely now! We're friends now. So see you around!" With that, Ryosuke had left the rooftop. Yuto had turned around and saw the Ryosuke walking off. No, that Yamada Ryosuke was the same as anyone. He's like this because no one's here. He wouldn't be an exception.
However, deep in his heart, Yuto had wished Ryosuke would be different from other people.
The next day, Yuto had arrived in school, and it was still the same. People trying to avoid getting in his way. No Yamada Ryosuke. Or so he thought. "Yuto-kun!" All the students there had almost froze in their position, and they saw a boy running towards the menacing Nakajima Yuto.
As Yuto turned to see who's calling him, he was met with a Ryosuke in mid-air, and giving Yuto a hug. That had almost sent Yuto off balance. At that moment, all the students held their breath, some even got out their phone, in case of any emergency.
Yuto lifted his hand, and ruffled the shorter boy's hair, before pulling Ryosuke off. While walking towards his class, Ryosuke was always by his side, telling him about every small things under the sun. Throughout the walk, Yuto had said nothing.
Yet, the shorter boy didn't seem to mind it. In Yuto's mind he thought, 'Let's see how long he'll act.'
However, time flies, and it has already been eight months since Yuto first met Ryosuke. It was the same everyday. Ryosuke would attack Yuto with a hug, and they would walk to class together. Slowly, Yuto began to respond to Ryosuke.
Also, there were times where Yuto would get into a fight. But Ryosuke would always be there to stop him. Thus, the people who were injured by Yuto had been decreasing through these months. Yuto's heart was melting to Ryosuke's warmth.
"Yamada. Why are you treating me like this?" They were walking home together. Somehow, this had also became their practice. Yuto would drop Ryosuke at his house before heading home. A small smile played on Ryosuke's lips, as he whispered into the taller boy's ears. "You wouldn't believe if I told you."
Ryosuke had immediately ran in front of Yuto, and stuck out his tongue at the taller boy. Grinning, Yuto ran forward and hugged the boy, so to stop Ryosuke from escaping his question. 'I've warmed up to him too much these few months.'
Ryosuke flinched a little, and turned to look into Yuto's eyes. "Because I fell in love with you years ago." Yuto's eyes widened. Confusion.
"Do you remember, six years ago? You save me from a bunch of gangsters. All I had to locate you with, was your handkerchief that you've lend me all those years back." As he spoke, Ryosuke pulled out the said handkerchief from his pocket, showing it to Yuto.
Indeed it was Yuto's, as his name was sewn onto it. Memories flashed back and he matched the face that was in front of him, with the one that was in his memory. "It's you."
Ryosuke looked down onto the floor, as Yuto's arms fell back to his side. "Sorry, I know that we're both guys but-!" He was immediately cut off by Yuto kissing him. It was a gentle and innocent kiss. Breaking apart, Ryosuke's cheeks were heavily decorated with a blush.
"I love you too. If you haven't shown up, I wouldn't have changed to become who I am now." Yuto offered his hands, and Ryosuke took it. Walking towards Ryosuke's house, both of their hands were interlaced together.
We love someone for who they are, just like how Ryosuke loves Yuto. Even though Yuto was feared by his peers in school. Love knows no boundaries.
